As a Professor in Physiotherapy my interests lie in growing AHP research in Dorset, nationally and internationally. I am involved in undergraduate education of Physiotherapy Research and pioneering physiotherapy research placements
Post graduate education – MSc Public Health
Currently supervise six PhD students and have supervised four students to completion and examined six PhDs
Leading and collaborating in research with a musculoskeletal focus includes, systematic reviews, self-management, pain management quantitative and qualitative research, service evaluation. Supervising PhDs, publishing in peer reviewed conferences and journals; > £300K grant income. Reviewing bids, articles for publication and conferences such as CSP UK, WCPT, IFOMPT

- I want to work with colleagues across Dorset to develop and deliver an AHP strategy that focuses on the Dorset ICS; with a research focus on prevention of care, integration of services, ensuring digital health is a key enabler and to support a workforce of the future.
- I recognise that as part of this council I will be able to work collaboratively to influence the education of graduates and therefore the future workforce.
- Engage with local and national stakeholders to promote the potential of AHPs in ICS Dorset and beyond.
- Ensure there are opportunities for AHPs to develop their careers and engage in advanced practice and leadership roles.
- I am the BU AHP representative for the Dorset ICS.
