Role: Clinical Lead Physiotherapist
Organisation: University Hospitals Dorset

About

  • I am a clinical lead physiotherapist specialising in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal practice at University Hospitals Dorset. Working both with patients who are candidates for elective treatment and those who have undergone orthopaedic surgery, I help them to recover and return to the things they love.

Having qualified as a physiotherapist in 2010, training at Kings College London, I have worked for University Hospitals Dorset for 12 years, gaining experience across different clinical specialities and specialising in orthopaedics and MSK practice for the last nine years. I recently completed my PhD through the University of Southampton on orthopaedic rehabilitation, and remain active in research; I recently published my first academic work examining very early rehabilitation following total hip replacement surgery.

Over recent years, I’ve used my digital and leadership skills to develop practice at University Hospitals Dorset, and this has helped me develop a keen interest in how digital technologies and solutions can improve the assessment and treatment of patients in the NHS.

  • I hope that the digital fellowship with NHS Dorset will help me to develop my knowledge on digital clinical safety and the procurement and rollout of digital solutions to NHS staff and patients, enabling me to become a prominent clinical leader in digital healthcare and modernisation of the NHS into the future
