In Dorset, we are passionate about helping people return to AHP practice and wish to make the process as straightforward and easy as possible to allow valued members of the AHP family to resume practice and employment with healthcare services in Dorset.
We understand that returning to practice needs to be flexible to you, provide you with excellent learning, and introduce you to some of the employment opportunities available to you within the local area.
Example return to practice journey (2 years out of practice)
20 days – supervised
Practice undertaken in the specialist areas of your choice
7 days – private study

If completed full time, a return to practice programme can be completed in as little as 6 weeks!
Remember, these programmes do not have to be completed full time. Our return to practice co-ordinators can help you with designing a programme which is flexible and works for you in our acute hospital trusts located in Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch, Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester, and through Dorset HealthCare in the Dorset community.
If you are thinking about returning to practice as an Allied Health Professional, then we would love to hear from you and help you on your journey back to practice.
