My name is Gabriella Horvath. I am originally from Hungary and I qualified there as a pharmacist in 1992. I moved to the UK in 2010 after having also lived in Ireland for 4 years. I started my career in England in Bridport as a pharmacy manager, then moved to a busy branch of Rowlands in Weymouth. I have now taken a step up and I am working as an area manager for Rowlands, looking after 25 branches across Dorset.
“I wouldn’t move to any other part of the UK, this is the best place for me and my family. It is like being on holiday every day.”
I am a mother of 5 children. Living in Dorset is amazing: I spend all of my free time walking, running along the coast, and discovering the beauty of the seaside with our motorhome. My children have had good opportunities and good schools, including travelling to Kenya and Nepal to do charity work. Three of my children have now finished university, and my youngest daughter is starting at Bournemouth University this September.
I am a member of the Dorset Local Pharmaceutical Committee (LPC) which helps me to build up my knowledge in the English pharmacy system, be an active part of developing the future of pharmacy in the new NHS and most importantly helping and supporting my colleagues across the sector to do the same.
I wouldn’t move to any other part of the UK, this is the best place for me and my family. It is like being on holiday every day.
