You’ll be an experienced nurse with full Masters level qualifications who, acting within your professional boundaries, will provide care from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. You’ll demonstrate safe, competent clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice. You’ll demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process and will work collaboratively with the duty GPs and general practice team to meet the needs of patients. You’ll understand the need for policies and procedures and be willing to participate in quality initiatives or lead on projects, if applicable and required. In order to work at this level, NMC requirements for advanced practice must be met. We’d welcome someone interested in working Monday and Tuesdays only, or flexible up to full-time 37.5hrs.

Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for patients presenting with an undifferentiated diagnosis

Clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective, and plan clinical care accordingly

Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate interventions/treatments for patients with complex needs. Proactively identify, diagnose and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition (as appropriate).

Participation in clinical meetings and practice quality initiatives. Willing to undertake other duties when required and possible, subject to appropriate skills, training or certification and competence.

James Fisher Medical Centre is looking for an enthusiastic Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join us on a part-time or full-time basis.

We’re a friendly GP Practice in Bournemouth that always aims to provide the best care to our patients. We’re a cohesive team of GPs and have a nurse team of 10 including Health Care Assistants and Phlebotomists. We also have 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners. We’re proud to be part of Central Bournemouth PCN and work well with our member practices. In-house, we support each other on the ground in our day job, and encourage further discussion of clinical concerns at our weekly clinical management meeting.

With a list size of around 12,500 patients, we are a GP Training Practice where opinions count, and patient services are always considered for improvement.
