Advanced Nurse Practitioner

We are looking to recruit a dynamic forward-thinking Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our expanding multi-disciplinary team. We are look for a person with experience in dealing with acute minor illnesses. Due to the pandemic the practice has made changes to the working day which has a mixture of e-Consultations, telephone triaging and same day presentations face to face.

The candidate would need to be able to provide evidence of autonomous practice and be comfortable in patient assessment, use of diagnostic equipment such as ECG to facilitate this and initiating treatment plans although full support will be accessible through the duty team on the day.

The Panton Practice is a large GP training practice

  • GMS list size 15,000
  • 3 Partners, 4 Salaried GP’s, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 Paramedic Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses and an HCA, all supported by our Reception and Admin team
  • Established training practice with registrars and medical students
  • Recent CQC inspection, March 2019 was rated good.

  • 30 minutes paid coffee break with all clinical staff in the morning
  • 15 minute appointments with double appointments for complex patients
  • Daily Duty Doctor support
  • Daily clinical supervision
  • 6 weeks holiday

This role benefits from good communication skills, IT knowledge and the ability to multi-task, as well as be confident to work on their own, but also as part of a supportive and flexible team. Experience of SystmOne and working in the NHS would be an advantage but is not essential.

Primary Care is evolving, and we are part of the Bournemouth Central Primary Care Network, working with our other local practices to offer further extended services both in and outside of our core hours. These include Physio, Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, Health Coaches and our Frailty Team.

We are a teaching practice for GPs and allied professionals and are developing a strong Multi-Disciplinary Team and feel this is key for better patient care. Every day is different, and you come across new challenges which makes it a very diverse environment. We work in a friendly atmosphere where social events happen throughout the year.
