Job Title: Advanced Practice Fellow
Hours: Up to 3 days per week (based on 12-month contract) 22.5 hours per Week
Pay: Hourly Rate 24.10 (Based on current Afc8a)
Contract Type: Fixed Term (One Year)
Responsible Too: Workforce Transformation Lead / Advanced Practice Workforce Transformation Lead
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician with a background in advanced clinical practice to work in a system leadership position providing Primary Care with support and guidance in the ongoing development of Advanced Practice. The post would suit an Advanced practitioner looking to work part time or as an addition to their current clinical practice.
Role Summary
- The Advanced Practice Fellow will be responsible for scoping Advanced Practice roles within primary care in Dorset to support further modelling as to the benefits of Advanced Practice.
- With a clear understanding of the AP Multi-professional framework and HEE governance, the AP fellow will map this against current PC standards and offer guidance, where appropriate, to practices and Primary Care Networks.
- The AP fellow will work with PCN’s and practices to support workforce planning to include AP where relevant, to add value to services.
- The post holder will work to develop a framework of support for AP’s and those in training to ensure their roles add value to Practices/PCNs across Dorset and that trainees are well supported.
- The AP fellow will ensure that practices have adequate levels of supervision for trainee and qualified AP’s mapped against HEE guidance and recognising areas requiring further support.
- The AP fellow will support the PC Training Hub with scoping for education and support practice to complete and be compliant with the HEE Governance Matrix.
- The post holder will support the development of Advanced Practice both for individuals and service progression inclusive of all professional backgrounds.
- The AP fellow will support the development of speciality roles adhering to relevant Career frameworks.
- The post holder will identify the immediate requirements for development and training of APs across Primary Care in Dorset.
- The AP fellow will collaborate closely with the AP Leads, where appropriate, including the Dorset ICS AP Lead, to ensure equity of AP across organisations.
- The post holder will assist with signposting and advise for clinicians, practices and PCN’s,
