Bournemouth East Collaborative PCN comprises four like-minded practices working together in East Bournemouth, Dorset. The PCN serves a population of approximately 53,000 patients with a diverse demographic. Our network is forward thinking and is actively developing our network team of healthcare professionals. By working together, we use our combined skills to provide a service that is joined-up, holistic, proactive, and personal for the patient.

You will be based with the rest of the Pharmacy Team at Shelley Manor and Holdenhurst Medical Centre, located within Shelley Park overlooking the sea with the beach within walking distance.

The Pharmacy Team is expanding, and we need another clinical pharmacist to deliver the vision for the team and for pharmacy services in our Network. The network is committed to the development of the team with our role seen as essential to the quality of services we provide to our patients.

Clinical Pharmacists in our network enjoy a varied role – clinics for long-term conditions are key to the role in addition to our “Medicines Hotline Clinic” in which we respond to patients’ and GPs’ medicines queries. Performing structured medication reviews will feature highly. Once in post the successful candidate will work closely with our pharmacy technicians on prescribing improvements such as audits, quality initiatives and the development of relevant policies.

We are therefore looking for a proactive, enthusiastic pharmacist to join us, who works well in a team and with excellent communication skills and who is keen to develop the role. You must be able to prioritise your own work and perform efficiently without constant supervision. You must have at least two years’ post registration experience.  Applications from candidates with either community pharmacy or secondary care experience are welcome.

Education and supervision are provided to all team members by a senior pharmacist and a GP. Enrollment in the 18-month CPPE Pathway is expected for all pharmacists. However, pharmacists with relevant experience may be eligible for exemptions to certain modules of the pathway

To apply for this position, you must be registered as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
