  • Salary: This role is on a salary scale of £21,124 to £24,634 per annum for working full-time 37 hours per week, where incremental points are awarded annually upon length of service.

      The starting salary for this role is £21,124 per annum for working full-time 37 hours per week. This is                  pro- rata £12,845 per annum for working part-time 22.5 hours per week.

  • Contract: Temporary until March 2023 with possible extension
  • Hours: Part-time 22.5 hours per week
  • Location: Bournemouth Central with home working

We are looking to recruit to the post of Health and Wellbeing Coach, to work within a Primary Care Network multidisciplinary healthcare team, providing 1:1 personalised support to people who are referred to them by team members and local agencies.

The successful candidate will have good communication, negotiation and people management skills and act with compassion and integrity. They will have experience of using coaching approaches, frameworks and models or other helping strategies, for example, motivational interviewing.

The post is based primarily within the Bournemouth Cental area.

The postholder will work with a diverse range of people from different cultural and social backgrounds. The ability to work confidently and effectively in a varied, and sometimes challenging environment is essential.

This is a vital role within the Primary Care Network and the post holder will provide health and wellbeing coaching for the most vulnerable people in the community, including the frail / elderly and those with other long-term conditions. They will work closely with GP and practice teams to manage a caseload, ensuring appropriate support is available to people, families and carers.

The successful candidate will work alongside social prescribing link workers and care coordinators to provide an all-encompassing approach to personalised care and enable people to work out how best to use the health and care system.


An enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) police record check in relation to vulnerable adults (previously known as CRB check) is required for this role.

Ability to travel across Dorset (and occasionally to other areas of the business), driving licence and use of own vehicle is required for this role.

For the purpose of expenses, the place of work for this role is East Dorset with home working. This means that the successful candidate will be able to claim back the cost of all work-related travel within the area of East Dorset. Any travel from outside this area until the boundary of East Dorset is reached cannot be claimed.
