Permanent

At Dorset HealthCare we’re on a mission to empower people to make the most of their lives through our outstanding, joined-up healthcare services. We’re a dynamic, forward-looking Trust, running 12 community hospitals, specialist inpatient facilities and a wide range of integrated community and mental health services for a population of almost 800,000 people.

We like to do things differently here – it’s one of the reasons the CQC rated us ‘outstanding’ in 2019. It’s also why 95% of patients across our services say they have a good or very good experience of our services and 89% of staff feel they can really make a difference. Whether you’re looking to work with us in one of our bustling market towns, a vibrant urban location, thriving seaside spot, or the among the rolling hills of a stunning rural setting, there are a lot of ways you can make a difference in our local communities.

Our 7,000-strong workforce is at the heart of what we do and our success is a testament to our brilliant people. We're all about building a workplace for the future – we believe in equal opportunities and we celebrate diversity. We’re an inclusive workplace, where everyone is welcome, everyone can be authentic, and we are all encouraged to be the best version of ourselves.

Working with us you’ll be part of a strong team. You’ll challenge yourself, build a career, and teach us what we don’t know. And you’ll be working towards our vision to be better every day through excellence, compassion and expertise in all we do.

Would you like to make a difference in Audiological care? If so, we may have just the role for you.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual wishing to gain sound experience in a very busy and friendly service and who wishes to develop their skills and knowledge further. If you’re looking for experience in adult services, complex services for patients in balance, tinnitus, adults with learning difficulties, community ENT and secondary care ENT, this could be the role for you.

This is a full time role (37.5hrs), part time hours will be considered.

We are a community based service which means we provide specialist care to patients at our main hub at Shelley Road in Bournemouth, domiciliary care within patients own homes and we work from 10 other outstations across East Dorset from Christchurch to Swanage. Therefore, you will be expected to cover any one of our outstations at any time (traveling expenses are reimbursed).

Our team at East Dorset Audiology are proud of being caring, competent and compassionate, with patients at the heart of what we do. We aim to provide high quality services which improve the health, well-being and independence of the people within our community. We are currently looking for an Audiologist to join our friendly team who possesses and who demonstrates behaviours that underpin this vision for audiological care.

We also have a comprehensive Paediatric service for babies, pre-school and school age children and we are working with other local Trusts to provide a Pan Dorset Local Children’s Hearing Service. As a service, we are also working towards IQIPS accreditation which will enhance the service even further.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, well-motivated, flexible and will provide a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitation service for our adult patients. Good communication skills are essential, together with the skills to provide excellent patient care and make clinical decisions as you will be required to work both solo and as part of a team.

In return we can also offer you:

  • Dedicated career pathways and great opportunities for continuing professional development
  • An excellent preceptorship programme - very comprehensive and fully supported Preceptorship Programme for newly qualified healthcare professionals
  • You will receive a comprehensive and structured induction programme and training
  • Monthly pay plus enhancements for night, weekend and bank holiday working
