Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for the provision of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) across the county. Our teams offer a range of individual, family, group and pharmacological interventions depending on the needs of the child, young person and family/carers. The Trust is also part of the Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (IAPT).

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Bournemouth & Christchurch CAMHS team. It is a permanent post working 37.5 hours per week. Working flexibly to meet the needs of the service, you will hold a clinical caseload and provide support to children/young people and their families by providing assessment & therapeutic intervention in a clinic and community setting as well as contributing to the team duty rota.

Previous experience of working with children is desirable but not essential for this post. Applicants without previous experience must be able to demonstrate an ability to transfer skills from previous experience to children and families.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £40 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments. This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff.

Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
