We have vacancies for two Clinical Team Leaders to join our team. This is a great opportunity to take your first steps into a leadership role and demonstrate your knowledge and abilities, whilst continually improving services and providing hands on care to young people.

Pebble Lodge Hospital is a purpose built, 10 bed, general adolescent unit for young people aged between 12 and 18 years, who are experiencing acute and severe mental health problems. Pebble Lodge Hospital also provides an education and day programme service for these young people. Pebble Lodge Hospital is rated as outstanding by CQC.

Clinical Team Leaders undertake a dual clinical and leadership role acting as a deputy for the Ward Manager. They play a key role in the day-to-day management of the ward and are a main point of contact for advice and decisions, and will support, supervise and manage staff. They also assist in the delivery of local and nationally required outcomes and will often be given a lead role to manage in their own right. This post requires that you work a shift rotation including nights.

The multi-disciplinary team on Pebble are friendly, knowledgeable and have wide ranging skills to;

  • Treat informal young people and those detained under the Mental Health Act using positive engagement, talking therapies (CBT/DBT) and medicines.
  • Place the young people front and centre in their recovery journey.
  • Engage creatively with young people to involve and empower them to co-produce their individual care plans, together with their families.
  • Prioritise both mental and physical health wellness.
  • Help young people be apart of the community, charities, get active, eat well and be apart of their own wellbeing.
  • Promote freedom of choice by maximising independence and least restrictive practice, in a safe and therapeutic environment.

Being a University Trust, we promote learning & development and all staff are encouraged and supported throughout their career to grow and develop. We provide in depth initial and on-going inductions, mandatory/personal training programmes, plus clinical and management supervision.

Our staff have access to some of the leading research programmes in mental health and, whatever your role, there are opportunities to develop skills and clinical practice by being part of ground-breaking work. We also have an eye on the future – always looking out for the leaders of tomorrow.

In addition, staff are entitled to a series of employee benefits, including flexible working, NHS Pension, car lease schemes and exclusive discounts on a wide range of products and services, from household appliances to holidays. We also offer a generous relocation package.

You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.

If you are interested in moving to Dorset we also offer a generous relocation package of up to £5,000. For further details on relocation expenses please email dhc.careers@nhs.net

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £44 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.

Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
