We are looking to recruit a full time consultant psychiatrist in older adult mental health. This is an exciting opportunity to work both within the Wimborne and Purbeck Community Mental Health Team alongside a part time consultant and take part in the multidisciplinary management of community referrals for those with both functional and organic illness.

The successful candidate would also have dedicated sessions to work with the newly reviewed and well Established Memory Assessment Service (MAS), working within the East of the county to provide expert assessment diagnosis and treatment for those with cognitive disorders. The vision going forward is to ensure that Dorset residents have timely access to expert services when required for their cognitive and other mental health problems with easy access to services required and good liaison between the service providers.

The Role at MAS involves diagnosis, staff supervision and improving the service. The service has helped to improve the diagnosis rate in Dorset significantly and is rated very well in the Friends and family test. The Memory Assessment Service is planning to apply for MSNAP accreditation in the near future.

The teams are both well established and experienced. The catchment area is within a picturesque area of the county .There is good opportunity for peer support and robust cross cover.
