We recently went into partnership with Bournemouth University and, with the merger of Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts, became University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust this is a really exciting time to join us!

Our ambitious multi-million pound plans to develop our sites are well underway, including developing RBH as the major acute and emergency hospital in East Dorset, PH as the major planned care hospital, and ambitious plans for Christchurch to support on-going patient treatment.

Joining UHD gives you the opportunity to enjoy all that Dorset has to offer. Bournemouth is a vibrant university town , and Poole has a large natural harbour and is perfect for water sports or relaxing at a quayside restaurant.

With both the New Forest and Isle of Purbeck on our doorstep, over 7 miles of stunning sandy beaches and coastal paths, we are located within an area of amazing beauty providing a great place for you to achieve your rewarding work life balance.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the operational management team in the Radiotherapy Department at UHD. We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, experienced and technically skilled registered therapeutic radiographer to support the department’s aim of improving standard of care for the service users of Dorset.

The candidate will also be required to work with radiographers from across the region to support the aims of the ODN. They will lead projects in respect of changing and improving service models and practice. This is an opportunity to suit a dynamic individual to lead and develop practice to deliver a quality driven modern radiotherapy service.

The department has completed upgrading its fleets of 4 linacs to Varian Truebeams all with SGRT and 2 with 6DOF couches. In addition to its linac fleets, the service provides superficial treatments and an expanding brachytherapy service. It also has comprehensive pre-treatment facilities.

The department is part of the only cancer centre in Dorset. It is situated at Poole with a satellite centre in Dorset County Hospital. The department is renowned for its high standards of patient care.

The candidate will be required to work at both sites.

Upon joining our team, the post holder will be supported with on-going professional and personal development and a comprehensive induction program will be provided. Staff are actively encouraged to participate in further study to enhance self and the department.

The workings hours are 37.5 over 5 days. Flexible working requests and job shares will be considered. Relocation support will be considered for the successful candidate.

Base Location: Poole Hospital but you will be required to work across site and at the satellite centre at Dorchester
