Fixed term (14 months)

We recently went into partnership with Bournemouth University and, with the merger of Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts, became University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust this is a really exciting time to join us!

Our ambitious multi-million pound plans to develop our sites are well underway, including developing RBH as the major acute and emergency hospital in East Dorset, PH as the major planned care hospital, and ambitious plans for Christchurch to support on-going patient treatment.

Joining UHD gives you the opportunity to enjoy all that Dorset has to offer. Bournemouth is a vibrant university town , and Poole has a large natural harbour and is perfect for water sports or relaxing at a quayside restaurant.

With both the New Forest and Isle of Purbeck on our doorstep, over 7 miles of stunning sandy beaches and coastal paths, we are located within an area of amazing beauty providing a great place for you to achieve your rewarding work life balance.

We are looking for a friendly, motivated individual to support the running of our TIA (Transient Ischaemic Attack) and Stroke Outpatient Clinic. This is a 14 month fixed term post

If you have excellent communication skills and are committed to delivering high quality care to patients we have a brilliant opportunity within our friendly outpatients team.

We provide urgent outpatient services for patients that have been suspected as having suffered a TIA. We also provide follow up outpatient services to patients who have suffered a Stroke. The HCA role includes supporting the running of the clinic, completing patient observations and further investigations if required (i.e. blood tests and ECG's). Experience as a health care assistant is advantageous, but not essential as full training will be given. A strong willingness to learn is essential.

If you are highly motivated, and feel you can make a real difference to the quality of patient care delivery, then we would be very keen to hear from you.

The role supports the TIA clinic in Poole Mon-Friday and at weekends in Bournemouth. Ability to work across both sites and weekend working is essential.

Please note: if this job requires you to have a DBS check to enable you to properly fulfil the requirements of the job, on appointment you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check and this amount will be reclaimed from your salary.

Base Location: Poole Hospital but you will be required to work across site.

Provisional interview date week commencing: 15th April 2022
