We recently went into partnership with Bournemouth University and, with the merger of Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts, became University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust this is a really exciting time to join us!

Our ambitious multi-million pound plans to develop our sites are well underway, including developing RBH as the major acute and emergency hospital in East Dorset, PH as the major planned care hospital, and ambitious plans for Christchurch to support on-going patient treatment.

Joining UHD gives you the opportunity to enjoy all that Dorset has to offer. Bournemouth is a vibrant university town , and Poole has a large natural harbour and is perfect for water sports or relaxing at a quayside restaurant.

With both the New Forest and Isle of Purbeck on our doorstep, over 7 miles of stunning sandy beaches and coastal paths, we are located within an area of amazing beauty providing a great place for you to achieve your rewarding work life balance.

Our aim is for the Older Persons Service to be a centre of excellence and current initiatives include working towards our dignity pledge, Compassionate Care projects and developing our newly established frailty pathway. There is on-going investment to ensure our staff have the right skills, values and expertise to provide high quality specialist care for older people.

Ward 4 is a short stay, mixed sex ward that specialises in Older Person’s Services, dealing with complex and acute medical conditions. We adopt a rehabilitation approach working closely with our therapy teams which helps to promote and maintain mobility and independence for our patients.

We expect all members of the team to work together and support one another through good and challenging times, making a difference every day to the patients we look after and the staff we work alongside.
