University Hospitals Dorset takes pride in providing exceptional care for our older patients with our dynamic frailty services across our Bournemouth and Poole Hospital sites.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) or someone currently enrolled on the ACP pathway to join our Consultant Physician and Trainee ACP Occupational Therapist in our Surgical Frailty Perioperative Service.

We are looking for a dynamic professional, passionate in the services for older people, with a desire to engage, motivate and innovate within this specialised and autonomous role working within our Surgical Frailty Multidisciplinary Team. The successful candidate will have advanced clinical and leadership skills to be able to assess, diagnose and formulate a clinical management plan for surgical patients with complex, chronic illnesses requiring surgery or surgical management.

Applicants should have a broad experience repertoire working across surgical, medical and older persons’ services at a senior level. You must be motivated and enthusiastic and have proven experience working as an autonomous practitioner. Ideally, you will have undertaken or be in the final phases of working towards an MSc qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice and to be a non-medical prescriber.

The service is currently predominantly Monday-Friday however this may be extended to cover a 7 day service in the future.

Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital (you will be expected to work at all the hospital sites as the service requires)
