University Hospitals Dorset (Royal Bournemouth Hospital) is seeking a suitably qualified chef to support the Catering team to provide a specialised service to our private ward.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to show your creativity by introducing new recipe ideas and inputting to personal menus tailored to our patients needs for the private ward.

You will equally provide an essential service to our NHS hospitals as you will be expected to spend part of your day producing food for our NHS patients.

This is a vital role as income generated for private activity is reinvested back to support our NHS services.

You will possess flair and imagination and be able to lead and inspire other members of the catering team. You should hold or be working towards an NVQ 3 Supervision qualification, and be willing to support the rest of the team. Experience in a customer facing environment such as a Hotel would be an asset as you will be engaging with private ward patients and staff.

This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (including Bank Holidays) with the occasional weekend to support the Catering Team. This is an attractive working pattern within the catering industry with all the benefits of working for the NHS.

Starting Salary £20,330 plus unsocial hours enhancements, full uniform, no split shifts, occasional weekends and a generous holiday allowance starting at 27 days, increasing with length of service.
