Virtual Fracture Clinic, Orthopaedic Outpatient Department

Virtual Fracture Clinic Administrative Support (Band 4) WTE 1.00

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and professional individual to join our Orthopaedic Outpatient department at Dorset County Hospital.

The Outpatient department is currently undergoing relocation and redesign and as such will offer an excellent outpatient service, with excellent clinical facilities for the population of West Dorset, supported by dedicated and skilled staff. As part of the redesign a Consultant-led Virtual Fracture Clinic has been implemented, with bespoke ICT software and we seek a dedicated profession to join our team to assist in steering this project into the future.

We currently review in excess of 11,000 new and follow-up trauma and orthopaedic patients a year in fracture clinic, new patients being triaged through the Virtual Fracture Clinic to ensure they get the right care, at the right time, by the right person. This in itself brings about a significant amount of coordinating to ensure that the patient pathway is as streamlined as possible for the benefit of the patient and the service.

Improving the Trust’s Outpatient services is a central component of the Trust’s ambitions for improving quality, efficiency and patient experience. We are now seeking an outstanding individual and communicator who will assist the team in driving improvements to promote exceptional standards of patient care.

The successful candidate will be experienced in administrative support and demonstrate experience in promoting quality, professionalism and improvements to patient experience. Knowledge relating to outpatient management, processes and pathways would be beneficial, although not essential as full training and support would be given to the successful candidate.
