Permanent 37.5 hour position

A vacancy has arisen within Family Services for a Medical Secretary. This is a 37.5 hour post which will be worked over five days.

Reporting to the Senior Medical Secretary, the post holder will coordinate Gynaecology and Obstetric patients’ care from referral to discharge. Main duties include coordinating appointments, managing results and typing letters to patients. Additionally, the post holder will deal with telephone enquiries, the non-admitted patient tracking list (PTL) and general admin.

The Women’s Health Department is busy and the post holder must have the ability to organise and prioritise their workload effectively and work on their own initiative.

Applicants must have excellent communication skills, an organized and methodical approach to their duties and enjoy a very driven secretarial role. They must also be a team player who can respond quickly and easily to changing priorities and demands.
