Applications are invited for a Consultant Urological Surgeon with an interest in the management of renal stones and laparoscopy to join our team at Dorset County Hospital. We are offering a 10 PA contract with an additional 2 PAs; participating in a consultant of the week model to provide the acute emergency service to the population of West Dorset.
The Urology Department at Dorset County Hospital consists of five Consultants, one Specialty Doctor, three junior doctors and a comprehensive nursing team supporting the service.
The main base for the Urology Department is Dorset County Hospital; however the successful post holder may be required to work across Dorset.
Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides excellent services to a rural population of 215,000. Your main base would be at Dorset County Hospital, a modern 365 bed, acute hospital located in the County town of Dorchester.
Dorchester is a popular market town with easy access to Dorset’s Jurassic Coastline in an area of outstanding beauty, served by frequent direct rail services to London and Bristol, with four regional airports within 90 minutes by road. There are excellent recreational amenities and good educational facilities available in both the public and private sectors. The popular seaside holiday resort of Weymouth with its golden beaches and picturesque harbour is only eight miles away.
