Where are you heading?
Poole Hospital offers all you need to start or develop your career
Come and join us at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Not only is it a great place to work; it's also a wonderful place to live. The town has great transport links, a bustling quay and some of the best beaches in England. You’ll also have easy access to the Dorset countryside, renowned for its areas of outstanding natural beauty and the spectacular Jurassic Coast, ideal for sports and outdoor activities.
Poole Hospital is one of the largest employers in the region and highly regarded across the NHS, consistently featuring within the top twenty per cent in both national patient and staff satisfaction surveys. We pride ourselves on positive team work, professional development and support staff to reach their fullest potential. All of this is underpinned by our unique philosophy, The Poole Approach, which pledges that we will strive at all times to provide friendly, professional, person-centred care with dignity and respect for all.
This is an exciting time for our staff, following a recent review of healthcare services in Dorset which will see major changes to the way healthcare is provided in our region. As one of the two acute NHS providers in the east of the county, our services will be closely linked to those provided at the Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We’re working in close collaboration to deliver excellent emergency and planned care over the two sites, for the people of east Dorset.
It is anticipated that the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will merge in the summer of 2020 to form East Dorset Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It is a condition of employment that all staff being recruited in the period before merger will work across all sites pre and post-merger.
These are 2 substantive full time posts 10 P.A’s
The 2 posts have become available following a retirement and a further post to help support and develop the service in the setting of increasing demand for breast and children’s imaging. An interest in either breast imaging and/or paediatrics are desirable but other sub-speciality interests will also be considered. The posts will also support a now well-established day and weekend working rota (1 in 12), with appropriate time off in lieu and outsourcing of scans after 10PM.
A service reconfiguration, following the Clinical Services Review for the county, is underway, with the development of One Acute Network. The CCG have confirmed that the Royal Bournemouth site will develop as the Major Acute Centre and Poole NHS Trust becoming the Major Planned Care Centre for the east of the county. This will be associated with the merger of Royal Bournemouth NHS and Poole NHS Trusts to become the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Consultant Radiologists to work within the Directorates. Once merged, the Radiology Departments of the Trust will have a combined Radiologist workforce of 33 diagnostic Radiologists, with a range of subspecialty interests, working in collaboration with a further 6 Interventional Radiologists. The size of the combined directorates will facilitate the development of a high degree of sub specialisation across the group.
The dominant site/location of post holder’s activity will be either at Poole and/or Bournemouth Hospitals, with an expectation to be able to travel to either site, as clinical and Trust requirements dictate. An already unified Carestream PACS and Soliton RIS facilitate seamless cross site, remote and home reporting.
Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register or have their CCT. Applicants who are within 6 months of obtaining their CCT from the date of the interview may also apply.
