This is an exciting time for our staff, following a recent review of healthcare services in Dorset which will see major changes to the way healthcare is provided in our region. As one of the two acute NHS providers in the east of the county, our services will be closely linked to those provided at the Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We’re working in close collaboration to deliver excellent emergency and planned care over the two sites, for the people of east Dorset.

Band 7 Radiotherapy Radiographer - Team Leader

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and technically skilled Band 7 advanced practitioner to join our friendly, committed team in radiotherapy.

The department is part of the only cancer centre in Dorset. It is situated at Poole Hospital with a satellite centre in Dorset County Hospital. The department is renowned for its high standards of patient care.

The department is transitioning to a single vendor department and is currently updating its fleet of Linacs to Varian TrueBeams. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to lead and develop radiographers to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of treatment and verification and maintaining quality of patient care. The post holder will be expected to review demand and capacity information and flex working hours to the needs of the department.

The candidate will be required to work at both sites. They will be participate in updating patient information, training, audit and quality assurance.

The department also has orthovoltage treatment units and pre-treatment facilities which include a mould room, two wide bore CT’s and Prosoma virtual simulation software at Poole.

The post holder will be support with on-going professional and personal development and a comprehensive induction program will be provided. Staff actively encouraged to participate in further study to enhance self and department

Full time staff are currently working their contracted hours over 4 days and are given a rolling day off each week with rotation periods between Poole and Dorchester. Applicants must be educated to DCR(T) / BSc Hons or equivalent and be registered with the Health Professions Council and have a minimum of 18 months post qualification experience.

Please note: if this job requires you to have a DBS check to enable you to properly fulfil the requirements of the job, on appointment you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check and this amount will be reclaimed from your salary.

Relocation support will be considered for the successful candidate
