About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Care and Support 0-12 Looked After Children team based in Dorchester.

The 0-12 team has responsibility for the completion of court work and achieving permanence for children under the age of 13. It works closely with colleagues in the district teams, adoption team, fostering, virtual school and health to provide an excellent quality of care for our children in care.

Social Workers have the opportunity to develop their skills and interests through high quality training, supervision and support. You will need to be able to work flexible hours and be prepared to travel within the UK.

You must have a degree in social work/Occupational Therapy or equivalent, be registered with the HCPC and be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the post.

Dorset Council requires all newly qualified social workers to undertake the assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE) and meet the expected standards during the ASYE period. The ASYE arrangements should normally apply to the appointment of all newly qualified social workers who qualified after September 2012 unless they can demonstrate that they already fully meet the standards laid out in the professional capabilities framework (PCF).  Please and the (if children’s SW post).
