About the Role:

We are looking for a self-employed Personal Care Assistant to provide support to our Client who is diagnosed with Down Syndrome which impacts on their intellectual ability, social functioning and their ability to live independently.

Also, the Client has difficulty in hearing and wears a hearing aid.

The Client requires ongoing support to establish routines and develop their confidence in the community. The Client needs help and support to enable them to participate in activities of their choice.

Hours: 30 hours per week, days and times to be confirmed.

Main Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Ensure basic hygiene needs are being met which will involve help in supporting Client with attending the toilet and management of colostomy. Making sure Client is appropriately clothed. Help in maintaining and managing of nutrition.
  • Domestic tasks such as basic housework to maintain a safe and habitable home environment. Support in making use of the home safely.
  • Help in making use of facilities or services in the local community. Help in accessing and engaging in work, training, education or volunteering.

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous PA experience in a similar role is essential and knowledge of Downs Syndrome is advantageous
  • Must have patience, enjoy socialising and be reliable
  • Confident to be directive as and when required
  • Full, valid driving license
  • DBS Check will be required
  • Legally Able to Work in UK
  • Provide evidence of self-employment such as Public Liability Insurance, Terms and Conditions, tax reference number.
