The NHS is working extremely hard to deliver the COVID-19 vaccination to local people.

We have made very good progress in a very short space of time since the vaccination first became available. More than 1 million doses and rising have now been delivered in Dorset.

We now need your clinical skills to continue the good progress we have made and be part of the largest vaccination programme in history.

If you’re an experienced healthcare worker you can play a vital role in protecting local people of all ages from COVID-19 and flu. You’ll expand your skills as part of of an amazing team of professionals working in a wide range of settings across Dorset.

Our winter vaccination programme includes:

  • COVID-19 booster vaccinations
  • COVID-19 vaccinations for 12-15-year-olds
  • Flu vaccinations, including school aged children and young people

About you

If you are an experienced healthcare worker such as a nurse, a pharmacist, a paramedic, an AHP, healthcare assistant or other specialist and want to help support the programme, we’d love to hear from you!

If you want be part of the largest vaccination programme in history, apply now!

We have opportunities in a variety of different settings across the county.

We are looking for those who can commit to a number of hours that can be worked flexibly, supporting the programmes over the next 4-6 months.

If you are currently part-time and able to increase your hours, we need you!

Training will be provided to everyone according to your existing skills and experience, and for those looking to refresh their skills.

Our roles

If you are already supporting the programme as a Dorset Healthcare Bank worker or Dorset Healthcare member of staff and interested in a fixed term contract please get in touch

We can offer you flexible bank agreements (work when you wish) with a range of shifts to suit you or fixed term contracts for up to 6 months. We are flexible to fit with your other commitments and are happy to discuss the hours available with part time applicants. Contracts will be offered for a six month period until June 2022 for immediate start dates following pre-employment checks.

Training will be provided to everyone according to your existing skills and experience, and for those looking to refresh their skills.

£32,360 to 39,027 p.a. pro rata for part-time hours

As a Clinical Supervisor for immunisations, you will undertake a clinical supervisory role, overseeing a team of Vaccinators in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of vaccinations.  This role is suitable for current Registered Health Care Professionals.

£25,655 to £31,534 p.a. pro rata for part-time hours

As a Registered Health Care Professional you will work as part of a team in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of vaccinations. The post holder will undertake activities such as clinical assessment, dilution and drawing up of the vaccine from multi-dose vials.  This role is suitable for current Registered Health Care Professionals.

Ideal for previously registered healthcare professionals or non-registered healthcare professionals, such as physicians associates, phlebotomists.

As a Vaccinator you will be responsible for administering the vaccine, working within a team of staff to delivering a safe and effective service.  This role is suitable for previously registered healthcare professionals or non-registered healthcare professionals, such as physicians, associates and phlebotomists.

As a Healthcare Assistant you will work as part of a team in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of vaccinations. You will be supporting the vaccination activity, assisting with the configuration and sanitisation of the vaccination area.  This role is suitable for those educated to NVQ level 3 or with equivalent previous proven experience.
