“I bring services together to work collaboratively”

Rebecca is a qualified mental health nurse, and works at Dorset CAMHS as a community nurse.

Originally, Rebecca wanted to pursue a career in mental health forensics, but after working in a forensic unit with young people, her career took a slightly different turn. ‘It’s just so refreshing to work with that age group,’ she explains, ‘I worked in an adult unit for a year and missed the fun of working with young people, so I joined CAMHS.’

Rebecca now works in a role that involves assessing young people and co-ordinating care, bringing together the services of multiple agencies to support young people who have slightly more complex needs.

‘My job is to make sure that young person is supported, and getting what they need from each of the services.’
