“The biggest rewards are our success stories”

Theresa Sired is a CAMHS clinical service manager – a position she describes as ‘the most rewarding role I’ve ever had.’

She began her healthcare career as a mental health nurse working in adult services and admits that, when she first trained as a nurse, she would ‘never have thought of a career with CAMHS’.

However, after working in variety of roles and gaining experience in mental health services and leadership, Theresa joined Dorset CAMHS and found a friendly team and a career that she says is ‘uniquely different every day’.

Her role enables her to be creative, dynamic and work alongside like-minded professionals who are all committed to driving forward service improvements. It’s the perfect combination to maintain clinical practice and balance operational and strategic planning to develop the service and meet quality standards.

Not only does she get involved in complex decision-making and processes, builds and maintains effective working relationships with a range of other services but she also gets the opportunity to develop her own skills as a clinician, leader and manager.
