CBT therapists specialise in providing cognitive behavioural therapy to children and young people who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

CBT is a talking therapy that can help children and young people to manage problems by changing the way they think and behave. It’s most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems.

CBT therapists will usually come from a ‘core profession’ and will have undertaken academic and clinical qualifications as appropriate for that profession. They will also then undertake further specialist training in CBT.
