Apprenticeships offer an opportunity to combine achieving a qualification with on-the-job training.

How we can support your development with apprenticeships?

We are now supporting Our Dorset staff to complete a number of leadership apprenticeships from Level 3 Team Leader to Level 7 Senior Leader Master’s degree.

Level 3 and Level 5 Apprenticeships

The Level 3 Team Leader / Supervisor – Diploma for Managers and the Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager – Diploma for Leaders and Managers result in an ILM (Institute of Leadership & Management) qualification and are both provided by Paragon.

The Level 3 is ideal for employees ready to take their first step on the leadership ladder or who have just started to climb it, and the Level 5 is designed for employees that manage teams, projects or departments. The courses are delivered through a dedicated personal tutor, and a blend of learning conferences, independent self-study, 1-2-1 visits, remote support and visits and end point assessment. The learning conferences for these are run locally with a cohort of people from across Our Dorset Health, Care and Local Authority organisations.

Level 6 and Level 7 Apprenticeships

The Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship and the Level 7 Senior Leader Masters Degree Apprenticeship are provided by The Open University and Solent University.

The level 6 is suitable for employees who take responsibility for people, projects, operations and/or services to deliver long-term organisational success and the level 7 is suitable for current and future senior leaders who lead, manage and direct organisations of all sizes.
