The post holder will gain valuable experience in their specific specialty and will be allocated a Consultant mentor. This has helped Doctors to get onto training programs in the past.

The post holder will complement existing services linked to their specialty. The post holder is expected to provide demonstrable expertise in their chosen field and deliver a high quality independent service or manage complex cases with minimal reference to a Consultant. We have a lead Doctor for this who is linked to the deanery and leads on training and development for Specialty Doctors.
