We recently went into partnership with Bournemouth University and, with the merger of Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts, became University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust this is a really exciting time to join us!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our dynamic and friendly Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy team. You will be working on the wards of a Major Trauma Unit, within the Wessex Trauma Network. The post will involve working with service users with a range of complex presentations including Fractured Neck of Femur, Multi-trauma and Spinal fractures.

The post will also involve opportunities for service development, involvement in the teams in-service training and development of supervisory and leadership skills. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to develop specialised physiotherapy skills, including advanced level assessment and treatment skills and complex case management. The team is passionate about teaching and development and runs a range of annual courses, including ‘Advances in Trauma’.

To be successful in this post, you will have:

  • Previous experience of working as a Physiotherapist, across a variety of clinical areas.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of the physiotherapy assessment and treatment of a range of clinical conditions
  • Excellent organisational and motivational skills
  • An ability to work flexibly and effectively across teams to meet patient and service priorities.

This post involves weekend working, extended hours and respiratory on-call as rostered.

Please note: if this job requires you to have a DBS check to enable you to properly fulfil the requirements of the job, on appointment you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check and this amount will be reclaimed from your salary.
