We recently went into partnership with Bournemouth University and, with the merger of Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts, became University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust this is a really exciting time to join us!

University Hospitals Dorset (formally Royal Bournemouth Hospital) is seeking a friendly hardworking, reliable person to support the Catering team to provide freshly cooked food to our patients and staff.

As a member of the catering team you’ll be responsible for providing an efficient, high quality dedicated food and beverage service, operating in compliance with corporate and local policies and procedures.

Whilst you will have experience of working in a similar environment and a Basic Food Hygiene certificate, COSHH and allergen training (or willingness to work towards it), your commitment to customer care, first class service and belief in teamwork are just as important.

Your tasks could include

  • May include simple food preparation in a chilled environment
  • Assisting the restaurant leadership team with the daily service within the restaurant
  • Making sure you’re completing the cleaning tasks to required standard
  • Assisting with stock ordering and making sure the displays are looking appealing to customers
  • Using the till and cashing up following procedures
  • Ensure that Food safety and Health and Safety polices are adhered to
  • Cleaning of the Servery/Dining Rooms

This post requires a flexible approach to locations/hours of work and to meeting the needs of our customers and patients whilst being supportive of the large food service operation at the UHD.

A driving licence would be an advantage but is not essential

This position has to cover 7 days and you will work several days to fulfil the business need and the 20 hr contract.
