Apprenticeships

WE OFFER APPRENTICESHIPS TO NEW AND EXISTING STAFF IN A VARIETY OF CLINICAL AND NON-CLINICAL AREAS.

An apprenticeship provides on-the-job training qualifications, enabling individuals to gain skills and confidence, and earn as they learn.

Key elements of an apprenticeship

Formerly the NVQ, this qualification enables learners to demonstrate and improve their practical skills in their chosen sector while in a work-based environment.

Formerly the Technical Certificate, this qualification focuses on the theory behind the application of the subject.

Covering the fundamentals of operating effectively in the workplace, Functional Skills are available in English, Maths and ICT.

This covers the rights and responsibilities that the apprentice will need to comply with at work. It helps learners understand the range of employer and employee statutory rights and responsibilities under employment law.

Apprenticeships for new staff

An apprenticeship programme offers a fixed-term contract with training and assessment provided by locally based, established training providers, as well as a dedicated and experienced work-based mentor, and on-the-job training.

There are a range of apprenticeships in both patient and non-patient facing roles.

An apprenticeship opens the door to a career in health and social care, and offers many benefits including a nationally recognised qualification, hands-on experience, transferable skills, regular study time, paid annual leave – and the opportunity to earn while you learn.
