Permanent

We recently went into partnership with Bournemouth University and, with the merger of Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts, became University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust this is a really exciting time to join us!

Our ambitious multi-million pound plans to develop our sites are well underway, including developing RBH as the major acute and emergency hospital in East Dorset, PH as the major planned care hospital, and ambitious plans for Christchurch to support on-going patient treatment.

Joining UHD gives you the opportunity to enjoy all that Dorset has to offer. Bournemouth is a vibrant university town , and Poole has a large natural harbour and is perfect for water sports or relaxing at a quayside restaurant.

With both the New Forest and Isle of Purbeck on our doorstep, over 7 miles of stunning sandy beaches and coastal paths, we are located within an area of amazing beauty providing a great place for you to achieve your rewarding work life balance.

We are looking for experienced midwives with a passion to deliver Antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.

University Dorset Hospitals as recently merged and we have opportunities for experienced midwives. Last year we cared for over 4,700 women across two hospital sites of Poole and Bournemouth and in the community. We are champions of normality and, in partnership with the obstetricians, advocates for all women during the antenatal period. Due to the nature of the role on calls and a car driver is essential. It is also essential to be a registered midwife with NMC Pin and to have completed a preceptorship programme.

We also have an excellent record for staff training and development whilst supporting and encouraging midwives to practice autonomously. As a result of the merger we are developing many areas of the service and are keen to develop leaders of the future in preparation for our exciting new build.

From Bournemouth and Poole there is easy access to the Dorset countryside and the New Forest renowned for its areas of outstanding natural beauty and the spectacular Jurassic Coast, ideal for sports, sailing and outdoor activities. Our town centre’s location means that we are conveniently situated for public transport. Our stunning coastline not only contains 7 miles of award winning beaches but is full of action all year round as it hosts fantastic events and festivals.

It is anticipated that the post holders will be working from the Bournemouth and Poole side of Dorset, it is an expectation that all staff can work on any site

Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital & Poole Hospital - please note this post may be rotational.
