We recently went into partnership with Bournemouth University and, with the merger of Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts, became University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust this is a really exciting time to join us!

University Hospitals Dorset is looking to recruit a full time Band 7 Advanced Nurse Specialist for the Macular Unit.

Future planning to further improve the nurse led service within the department, the post holder will be key in leading this within the department and will be a vital member of the team for support and training individuals.

The post holder will work alongside the ophthalmic medical team and lead the development of an advanced ophthalmic nursing service within the Trust.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in ophthalmology and will be a registered non medical prescriber. The successful candidate will be expected to be a key member of the multi-disciplinary team and play a significant role in driving forward quality and service improvement. Acting as a role model, the successful candidate will also need to demonstrate high standards in clinical care and have the ability to ensure the delivery of a high quality patient experience. Excellent organisational and communication skills, resilience, and the ability to meet the challenges and demands of a busy and diverse clinical service are essential.
