We are able to offer a wealth of developmental and fully funded training opportunities and a huge breadth of specialities and experience.

We are looking for a dynamic, friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic pharmacist to combine providing a clinical pharmacy service to the wards with practice-based research. The role benefits from an established pharmacy service to the stroke wards, consisting of specialist elderly care pharmacists and medicines management technicians, who will support you and the pharmacy service to the ward.

You will lead and develop the pharmacy service to our established Hyper Acute Stroke Unit at The Royal Bournemouth hospital. You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team, attending ward rounds and promoting evidence-based prescribing.

The research aspect of the role will initially focus on the project title: “Pharmacist led
management of anticoagulation post stroke – Impact of pharmacist intervention on DOAC initiation and patient adherence to DOAC therapy post discharge from secondary care.

The Pharmacy departments at UHD are friendly, forward thinking and are constantly looking for ways to innovate and improve the service. We’ve embraced medicines optimisation, robotic automation, electronic prescribing and administration of medicines (EPMA) and seven day working.

Informal visits and enquiries are fully supported and encouraged.
