Do you have experience supporting people in the community? Are you looking for something new, interesting and stimulating which offers the opportunity to use and enhance your experience? If so, the Criminal Justice & Diversion Service is recruiting a full time Support Time Recovery Worker to work across west Dorset on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week.

Support Time Recovery Workers play a pivotal role in the service, working with service users in the community to provide support with any practical concerns or difficulties that may be affecting their mental health and wellbeing. They provide time limited, 1 to 1 support to service users, giving information and/or support to allow them to access a wide range of agencies and services, such as housing, benefits and health.

As an all-age service, you will be working with adults and children with a complex range of mental health needs and other vulnerabilities who have come into contact with the criminal justice system. A key function in the role will be to work in close liaison with and build links between partner agencies and supporting effective enablement for vulnerable adults and children.

You will be based in the Dorset Police Custody Suite and Magistrates’ Court in Weymouth, although there may be times you are required to work flexibly across the whole of the county.

Employment with the Criminal Justice Liaison & Diversion service is dependent upon passing the police advanced vetting process.

The successful applicant is required to hold a full and valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.

As part of this role you will be required to undertake the Care Certificate as part of your induction. The Care Certificate aims to ensure all staff are caring, compassionate and provide quality care in their work and it is therefore expected that you successfully complete all aspects of the Care Certificate to work in this position.

Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
