Are you an experienced & self-motivated registered nurse with significant Oncology/Haematology experience looking to join the existing team in the Dorset Cancer Centre, Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust providing high quality care and support to our patients with cancer?

If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse in our Oncology/Haematology Day Care Ward and Acute Oncology Assessments area. It is essential that the applicant has experience in cancer care, cannulation, venepuncture and the administration of systemic anti-cancer treatments. We are looking for a flexible, motivated registered nurse in a secondment post. It is essential to be organised, and have the ability to manage your own work load.

The post holder must be able to maintain and facilitate a high standard of care for patients and their family or carers, while working with all members of the MDT and supporting the charge nurse. Knowledge of EPR and general computer skills are essential to the role. The post will be full time and will cover a seven day working rota.

Requirements

    • RGN with post registration experience
    • Previous nursing experience within oncology/ haematology, acute medicine or emergency care and have some palliative care experience
    • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate the ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
    • Demonstrate the ability to balance & prioritise a busy workload
    • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills

If this job requires you to have a DBS check to enable you to properly fulfil the requirements of the job, on appointment you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check and this amount will be reclaimed from your salary.
