Self-Employed Personal Assistant - DPLMAW

Bournemouth, BH9 area. 

About the Role:

We are looking for a self-employed Personal Care Assistant to provide support to our female Client who has a brain injury which causes the Client to suffer with dizziness, brain fog, anxiety, migraines, memory impairment, fatigue, and weakness. These conditions are variable and can fluctuate rapidly, with flare ups lasting anywhere between days and weeks. At worst, the Client can struggle in completing everyday tasks. The Client requires support, gentle prompting and assistance with certain tasks to live an independent life. 

We are looking for 4 hours support per week plus one hour for fluctuating needs, days to be discussed but preferably AM visits. 

Main Duties will include but not limited to:

  • When necessary ensuring basic hygiene needs are being met in a dignified manner which will involve assistance in showering, help in attending the toilet and help in dressing in clean and appropriate clothes (independently).
  • To support the Client in managing and maintaining a healthy and well-balanced diet.
  • Domestic tasks such as basic housework, preparing meals. Help with maintaining a habitable home environment.
  • Help with general paperwork, payment of bills and arranging appointments.
  • Supporting Client in attending appointments.
  • Helping and supporting Client to make use of necessary facilities or services in the local community.
  • Helping the Client in accessing and engaging in work, training, education or volunteering.

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous PA experience in a similar role is essential and knowledge and/or experience of head injuries is advantageous
  • Must have patience, enjoy socialising and be reliable
  • Confident to be directive as and when required
  • Full, valid driving license essential for the role
  • DBS Check will be required
  • Legally Able to Work in UK
  • Provide evidence of self-employment such as Public Liability Insurance, Terms and Conditions, tax reference number.
