The Outpatient Booking Team at Christchurch Hospital is currently looking for a Receptionist/ Appointments Clerks to join the existing Booking team

Whilst on the reception desks you will be dealing with patients attending outpatient appointments in various specialities within the Trust. You will need to ensure that patients attending for an outpatient appointment receive a friendly welcome to the hospital, have their demographic details checked along with their attendance being recorded on the computer.

In the call centre you will be involved in making and receiving telephone calls to patients regarding forthcoming appointments and sending out appropriate documentation.

You will be working closely with other clerks and appointment staff as well as Consultant and Nursing staff. Previous NHS and general office experience is preferable but not essential as training will be provided. You will have basic computer skills and numerical accuracy. You must be able to demonstrate that you can work effectively as a team member and have clear verbal and written communication skills.

Flexibility in hours may be required especially during periods of team member’s annual leave.

Future opening hours may include weekend clinics so you will need to be flexible.

Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8.30-16.30

Base Location: Christchurch Hospital, although may include working at other sites in the future
